Dental Anxiety
As a service to our patients, Dr. Chang routinely offers many levels of sedation for all surgical and non-surgical periodontal and dental implant procedures. During Dr. Chang’s three year residency program at UNC-Chapel Hill following dental school, she was hospital trained to manage emergency medical situations and intravenous conscious sedation (IV sedation). We also provide other forms of sedation, including the use of nitrous oxide, and oral sedation.
If you are at all anxious about a procedure to be performed, we encourage you to ask us about our options for sedation. The majority of our patients choose some type of sedation for all surgical, and some non-surgical periodontal and dental implant procedures. It is absolutely important to us that you be completely relaxed and safe during your procedural visits. If you are to be sedated, a responsible adult must accompany you to the office and provide transportation.
