Temporary Teeth “Flipper”
If you are missing teeth or having a tooth removed you will be
given an appliance for use during healing.
- Leave it in tonight (unless otherwise
instructed). Tomorrow morning, remove it, rinse it
thoroughly, and place it back in your mouth. It not only replaces teeth
it acts as a bandage and helps keep swelling down.
- Wear the appliance for the first 3 days. You may
remove it in the morning and then after meals to clean. Use a
large toothbrush to clean it.
- After
2 weeks, remove the appliance at night to allow the tissue to breathe.
On some occasions it is necessary to see your general dentist
the day after surgery for adjustment and a comfort lining. If this is
necessary for you, Dr. Wunderlich and Chang will let you know in advance
